These Ocean Necklaces are crafted from slices of moose antler, decorated with coloured resin and attached to a gold plated chain. The embedded seashells were collected from April's home of Nunatsiavut, and the earrings are inspired by her late mother, an ocean woman who loved the water. Each necklace is a stunning, well-crafted piece of jewellery, embedded in Inuit culture.

April Allen is deeply rooted in her Inuit culture and heritage, hailing from Rigolet, Nunatsiavut. Her artistic journey is a beautiful testament to her upbringing, influenced by her mother's dedication to sewing, sparking April's interest in craftwork at a young age. Learning knitting and sewing from her mother laid the foundation for her passion for beadwork and sewing.

Her commitment to incorporating her Inuit culture, history, and traditional materials into her artwork reflects her strong connection to her roots. Participating in events like the Indigenous Fashion Arts Festival, Inuit Studies Conference, Adaka Cultural Festival & Arctic Arts Summit, Crafted Show and Sale, Vancouver Indigenous Fashion Week, and the Labrador Winter Games’ closing ceremonies has provided April with platforms to showcase her exquisite work and share her knowledge through workshops.

April's dedication to preserving and sharing her Inuit heritage through her art while inspiring and educating others, particularly Indigenous youth, marks her as a commendable figure in the contemporary artistic landscape.
