The Monochrome Series is a deep exploration of colour using collages of manmade and natural imagery. Transformed into pixelated abstract representations using cross-stitch, the series is created through a process of collaboration between digital and handmade. Lines are blurred, till differences are no longer visible, and all that matters is how they compliment each other.

Mallory Donen is a multidisciplinary artist residing in Vancouver on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil Waututh First Nations. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from University of the Fraser Valley, and a Master of Fine Arts from University of Manitoba. Donen was a recipient of Research and Creation grants from the Canada Council for the Arts in 2021 and 2022. She has exhibited solo and group shows both nationally and internationally in the USA. Currently she works from her art studio at City Centre Artist Lodge (a former motel), what was previously the central hub for Vancouver Mural Festival.
