Nina Turczyn graduated with a degree in Design from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design after a circuitous path through Sheridan College where she studied Illustration, and the Canadian Opera Company where she studied Special Effects Makeup. Brought up in Ontario by an Architect father, who is also a painter, and a Silversmith mother, Nina was introduced to a merging of design and craft at an early age. In 2007, Nina started Paprika Design, a freelance graphic design and illustration business on Gabriola Island which also includes her silversmithing, the most recent addition to her repertoire of artistic mediums.
