This piece is part of The Earring Show, an annual fundraiser for the Craft Council of BC that highlights contemporary jewellery design. The exhibition sheds light on the timeless connection between craft and culture, and how they influence each other.

Amanda Cox is the founder of Rock Candy, a luxury gemstone bead jewellery brand. She designs and handcrafts singular pieces in her Vancouver studio using precious and semi-precious gemstone beads, organic substances, and precious metals.
Inspired at an early age by ancient beads and art history, Amanda cultivated a broad-based knowledge of art and architecture through academia and travel. She studied Art History at Columbia University before earning her Masters in American Indian Studies at the University of Arizona, and then her law degree from the University of San Diego. Amanda returned to her passion after a successful 15-year career as a senior executive in finance, leading global operations at such firms as JP Morgan in New York and Scotiabank in Toronto. Her business acumen and entrepreneurial nature, along with her passion for, and knowledge of, art and design serve her well in her creative endeavours.
Amanda lives with her husband in Vancouver, where she continues to design and create unique and luxe gemstone bead jewellery.
