Born and raised on Vancouver Island, Alison has long been inspired by the ocean, tall timbers and dark forests. She aims to create unique pieces that evoke an earthy connection for their users.
Alison believes that functional pottery provides “a little art for everyday use” and hopes that the simple act of using a hand-crafted mug or bowl will provide users with a sense of grounding and inspiration at the start of every day. With that in mind, Alison strives to include design features on all surfaces of her pots, intentionally including a swirl on the inside of cups and the bottom of each bowl, representative of the continuous flow of water, air and life.
Alison works to ensure that the tactile experience of her pots is rewarding, where the act of cradling and wrapping your hands around a favourite mug, can be as comforting as the beverage inside it.
