Mexican Folk-art heart pendant in solid 925 sterling silver.
"The ‘Corazón Sagrado’ or ‘Corazón de Fuego’ (Sacred Heart or Flaming Heart) is a common motif found in Mexican folk art. It represents love, compassion, resilience, and living life ‘with heart and from the heart’. It is also considered to hold powers of protection and guidance.
As is common in many aspects of Mexican culture and art, the Sacred Heart shows a mix of religious iconography (Spanish influence) with Mesoamérica flair."
- Tara & Roboan
Their designs are influenced by their backgrounds (Roboan is from Mexico and Tara is from rural Canada), and from their travels and nomadic lifestyle. They spent several years living in different countries including Spain, South Korea, Scotland, Mexico, Canada, and have traveled and spent significant time in several others. The techniques and designs used in their creations reflect this.
They do hand engraving, Mokume Gane (Japanese Technique), Lost Wax Carving and Casting, and are always experimenting with new styles and techniques.
