Use a soft bottle brush or toothbrush to gently scrub the interior of narrow vases. some decorative ceramics are porous, place a protective mat or pad under the vase if you are placing it on a finished wood or delicate table. Wrap the piece in bubble wrap or store it on padded, non-fibrous shelves to avoid accidental chips or breakage from vibrations.
Fill your home with a sense of awe and wonder with this tree-inspired sculpture, which is both representational in appearance and multilayered in meaning. According to the artist, trees have hidden complex lives, and commonality can be found with them; trees speak about vulnerability, community, beauty, brokenness, nurture, help and hope.
Bev Ellis studied Fine Arts at University Fraser Valley. She works primarily with ceramics, mixed media, and acrylic on canvas. Additionally, she created a line of jewellery that has sold across Canada. She is a requested art instructor, and takes pleasure in teaching art to students of all ages. She is also an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists. Her work is in public and private collections. When not in her studio, she enjoys hiking with her family and golden retriever, kayaking, boating or beachcombing and taking photos.
