Jamie’s earrings are made using upcycled high quality leather, hand painted and lovingly assembled from start to finish in her studio. Each set bursts with creativity, whether through confetti or origami shapes, pastel shading, or bold citrus colors. In all her work, the artist combines her pursuit of sustainable fashion with eye-catching designs.

Scandinazn crafts imaginative jewellery - inspired by the geometric shapes and pops of colour in Scandinavian design and the subtle intricacies of Japanese art – inspired by designer Jamie Carlson’s mixed heritage.
While completing her undergrad in Fashion Design at Kwantlen, Carlson developed a love for upcycling out of a desire to create beautiful things from waste. Through the process of experimentation, leather became a favourite to use as an embellishment – creating tassels or patches to add on to clothing. Eventually those tassels evolved into earrings, and Carlson’s focus shifted to making jewellery. Scandinazn was founded in 2012, with the desire to explore elements of design from her heritage, while shining light on the often wasteful nature of the fashion industry.
Scandinazn is all about promoting creative self-expression and sustainability through ethically made jewellery.
