6.0 x 1.6 x 0.4 cm

3 5mm turquoise (sleeping beauty mine), 8 5mm turquoise (sleeping beauty mine), sterling silver

These dangle earrings are hand fabricated from sterling silver and accented with hand textured ray design. The textured design is continued on the back of the earrings. Sleeping Beauty Mine turquoise has a unique sky blue colour that pairs beautifully with sterling silver. The dangle is created with three jump rings to allow for movement.

Cindy Rattray's journey to jewellery design has been a long and circuitous one. Born and raised in Manitoba, she graduated from university with a bachelor's degree in psychology and criminology. Her 36-year career in law enforcement brought her to Vancouver where she fully retired in 2022.

Cindy's appreciation and love of hand-fabricated jewellery began with her own engagement ring in 1989. Her desire to design and create jewellery along with her son's process of having his wife's engagement ring custom-made led her to enrolling in the VCC Jewellery Art Design (JAD) program in 2023.

Cindy's work in jewellery design is influenced by the mid-century era she grew up in, and both her love of colour and her life experience are evident in her work. For the past 35 years, her creative outlet has been fabricating stained-glass windows and lamps. The colours and textures of the glass translate to her love of texture and to the coloured gemstones in her jewellery, where she explores and creates without constraint. Cindy graduated from the JAD program in May 2025. Her work has been exhibited twice at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver. Cindy was the recipient of the Roberto Fioravanti Jewellery residency award.
