Aarti Chordia holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Metalwork from India's most prestigious art institution, Sir J. J. School of Art (est. 1857). During her academic career, she received several merit certificates and awards for her performance, including the Indo-Swiss Students' Achievement Award, presented to only one graduating student from the metalwork department. She was one of the few students selected to exhibit her work at Jehangir Art Gallery, one of Mumbai's leading and most respected art galleries. She has also participated in several group exhibitions at art galleries in Mumbai, including the Nehru Centre Art Gallery.

Following her formal training, Aarti worked extensively in large-scale enamel works and metal mural commissions for bespoke hospitality spaces and private residences. After relocating to Canada, she took an extended pause from her studio practice. She has recently returned to metal through contemporary jewellery, translating her sculptural background into wearable forms. Her practice explores resilience, material transformation, and the expressive possibilities of hand-fabricated metal.
