This earring set was created using lost wax casting, followed by traditional goldsmith finishing techniques. Hand-fabricated prototypes were developed to resolve form and proportion before being translated into wax for investment casting. After casting, the components were refined by hand through filing, sanding, and controlled polishing to define edges and surfaces. Final finishing ensured durability and wearability.
Judi Patson is the founder and designer behind even design, an independent jewellery practice established in 2003. Her work centres on balance, meaning, and the idea of jewellery as a tangible memory—objects that mark moments, relationships, and lived experience.
Inspired by the quiet joy of small surprises and shared experiences, her practice seeks to capture stillness and connection in a fast-moving world. These themes of balance, direction, and resilience have remained consistent throughout her body of work and continue to inform each collection.
Alongside her signature designs, she creates custom jewellery that carries personal significance. This includes the transformation of heirloom materials and individual ideas into pieces that honour milestones, relationships, and everyday strength. Storytelling plays a central role in her approach, with each piece intended to reflect the wearer's narrative rather than follow trends.
Her jewellery is crafted with integrity and care, using responsible materials and considered processes. By prioritizing quality and working closely with skilled artisans, she ensures each piece is made to endure, both physically and emotionally.
Through even design, she continues to explore jewellery as a meaningful, wearable expression of memory and connection.
