Ripple Effects explores movement, fluidity, and transformation through sculptural form. Each piece begins as a hand-drawn concept, inspired by the organic rhythm of water and the gentle distortion of light across a surface. The initial sketches are translated into digital vector designs using design software, where proportion, balance, and scale are carefully refined. This integration of traditional drawing and modern technology allows for precision while preserving the original artistic intent. The components are then cut from lightweight acrylic using laser-cutting technology to achieve clean, accurate forms.

What distinguishes Ripple Effects is the sculptural finishing process: each element is individually heated and hand-molded to create its signature rippled, undulating texture. This hands-on shaping gives every piece subtle variations, making no two pairs exactly alike. The controlled heating process allows the material to soften and curve organically, resulting in a fluid, dimensional surface that interacts beautifully with light. Once shaped and cooled, the components are carefully assembled by hand, ensuring movement, comfort, and durability. Stainless steel posts are attached for strength and wearability. The result is a contemporary statement piece that bridges technology and craftsmanship where precision cutting meets expressive, tactile form.

Sylvia Dief-Atallah is the founder and designer behind Ketoora, a Canadian jewellery brand celebrated for bold, architectural statement pieces. A self-taught artist, jewellery design is her second career. Sylvia previously built her entrepreneurial foundation in the food industry, where she developed a strong business acumen and creative discipline.

Inspired by art, culture, travel, and geometry, her work blends sculptural form with vibrant colour and lightweight wearability. Each design begins as a hand sketch and is refined through digital technology before being precision laser-cut and carefully assembled by hand in her studio. Her work is carried in galleries and museums across Canada and featured in juried shows nationwide.
