At Maison Evrard the work and approach are seen as artisanal and artistic at the same time. Inspirations are drawn from the history of art and the perpetual, age-old search for beauty. Memory occupies a preponderant place, it is an inexhaustible resource. In many of the pieces created by Aurélien Evrard, the organic and raw elements are partly linked to trauma and intra-family relationships.
Originally from France, jeweller Aurélien Evrard spent his childhood between Paris and the countryside of the Oise region. He has been living and working in Montreal since 2017. He founded Maison Evrard in 2023 during his second year of DEC at the Montreal School of Jewellery. Inspired by the school's characteristic rigor, creative freedom, and mutual support, he quickly found his place within the Montreal jewellery community. Graduating in 2010 with a master's degree in cultural project management, Aurélien also works as a coordinator at Fierté Montréal alongside his jewellery endeavors. Committed and aware, his work in jewellery is heavily inspired by the struggles for the rights of LGBTQIA+ communities, social acceptance, and civil rights movements.
