This sculpture was one of fifteen commissioned by the Craft Council of BC, and is a fine example of artist Debra Sloan's signature 'baby' forms. Sloan has exhibited internationally and has won acclaim for her unique and innovative style. Each statue in this collection has been numbered and is exclusively available through the CCBC.
Debra Sloan is an internationally exhibited artist who began her career in 1973 as a self-taught ceramicist, eventually going on to receive her BFA from Emily Carr University of Art and Design in 2004. She has been a clay sculpture instructor for over two decades at Shadbolt Centre for the Arts and at the Metchosin International Summer School of the Arts. She has served and adjudicated for the CCBC and Circle Craft Boards and for the Filbert, Sunshine Art Gallery and the Sydney Art Exhibition.
