Judi's "Shooting Star Earrings" celebrate celestial beauty, inspired by meteors streaking across the night sky. Crafted from sterling silver and adorned with Peridot or Garnet, these earrings embody movement, energy, and cosmic wonder. Flowing silver lines evoke luminous star trails, creating a sense of motion. Judi shapes the metal to reflect the shimmer of starlight, ensuring elegance and fluidity. The vivid green Peridot adds vibrancy and meaning, symbolizing cosmic energy and renewal, connecting the wearer to both the heavens and the earth. Garnet, with its deep crimson hue, evokes the fiery glow of meteors burning through the atmosphere. Long associated with strength, love, and transformation, it enhances the celestial theme, symbolizing both fleeting brilliance and enduring inspiration. Sterling silver serves as the perfect medium, mirroring the stars' timeless radiance. Judi's meticulous craftsmanship gives the metal an organic, flowing form, representing both the impermanence and beauty of shooting stars. Peridot's celestial connection is significant - it has been found in meteorites and symbolizes transformation, while Garnet adds depth, warmth, and human resilience.
In 2003, Judi Patson stepped away from the fast-paced world of film production to pursue a new creative passion: jewellery design. As a former first assistant director, she had spent years shaping stories on set, but she soon discovered a new way to tell them, through the artistry of fine jewellery. Drawing from her cinematic background and diverse experiences, she embarked on a journey where innovation and craftsmanship take center stage.
Her first creation, which later became her signature, was a ground-breaking design that embedded a level within a piece of jewellery, a striking symbol of balance. This bold concept not only marked a pivotal shift in her career but also earned a feature on the masthead of the National Post, a testament to its originality and resonance. Today, her work continues to evolve, embracing themes of balance, connection, harmony, and tradition. Each piece is thoughtfully crafted, designed to be both clever and deeply meaningful, ensuring a personal connection with its wearer. This dedication to individuality and significance lies at the heart of evendesign.
