This piece is part of The Earring Show, an annual fundraiser for the Craft Council of BC that highlights contemporary jewellery design. The exhibition sheds light on the timeless connection between craft and culture, and how they influence each other.

Alex is a beginner jewellery artist located in Burnaby, BC, where she makes all of her jewellery by hand. Her jewellery fabrication knowledge comes from a year studying jewellery design at LaSalle College Vancouver. During her time at school, she discovered her love for contemporary art jewellery. She now uses jewellery as an outlet to express conceptual designs that often explore the perspective of the world around her.
Inspired by her surroundings of nature and humanity, she likes the task of taking topics from her unique perspective and turning them into a physical form that is wearable and beautiful. Each piece has a meaning or story behind its form. She is currently working on developing a home studio to expand her jewellery practice and maybe starting an online store to sell her pieces.
