Tomoe grew up in Japan, which is blessed with beautiful nature and a rich culture that has deeply inspired her artistic style. She moved to Canada and started exploring her artwork and building her jewellery skills at George Brown College. After graduating, she has pursued more of the techniques of casting, forging, fabrication, and gem-setting in precious metal to refine her pieces.

The process of design and craft is enjoyable for her because of the transition from raw materials to wearable pieces. It is important to her that the jewellery she makes is appropriate as functional adornments. She hopes that her pieces are close to the wearers and brighten up their everyday lives.
