This piece is part of The Earring Show, an annual fundraiser for the Craft Council of BC that highlights contemporary jewellery design. The exhibition sheds light on the timeless connection between craft and culture, and how they influence each other.

Nathanael Wiebe, who currently resides in eastern Canada, founded Golgotha Reborn in 2020. Making high-end jewellery and leather goods, they intentionally leave the marks of the maker as an act of rebellion against the digitalisation and automation of modern life. At the heart of Golgotha Reborn is a focus on building a like-minded community, with shared values of creation, love, and selfless rebellion.
Nathanael was raised in Thunder Bay, Ontario, under the Brethren Church. Having overcome bullying and hardship in his early years, they turned to art as a means of both escape and survival. This turn towards art gave Nathanael the basis for reconstructing his faith on the principles of unity and self-expression, providing them a new purpose for living. At the age of 19, Nathanael joined the volunteer seafaring group aboard the MV Logos Hope, where he embarked on a journey of self-discovery. Nathanael's love of fine craft stems from his personal journey of worshiping our Creator through creative self-expression and an ultimate goal of experiencing heaven on earth.
