Ecuadorian designer Doménica Guevara is a jewellery artist and silversmith from NSCAD University whose work is inspired by her homeland. She reinterprets traditional Ecuadorian motifs and symbolism through a contemporary lens, revealing stories of culture and tradition in wearable form.
Alongside her studio practice, Doménica has pursued a strong interest in languages, particularly Japanese. Her commitment to studying the language led her to place first in the Ontario Japanese Speech Contest and third in the Canadian National Japanese Speech Contest. Her engagement with Japanese language and culture has also influenced her creative process, shaping both her visual style and conceptual direction.
Doménica has exhibited her work in exhibitions such as the traveling Canadian Student Silversmith Exhibition, the Fashion Runway Show, and the Jewellery Walking Exhibition in Halifax.
