In 1983, after living and working for eighteen years as a potter in Terrace, BC, Jan came to Vancouver and set up a paper-making studio in the downtown core. Since then, she has worked daily at the business called Plant Papers, making and developing her own style of decorative paper made entirely from plants and blossoms. Custom work has always been an interest. Jan has had the opportunity to work on some large projects spending several months creating one-of-a-kind site specific artworks for hotels such as the Waterfront Hotel in Vancouver and the Delta Suites Hotel in Whistler. From the start, Jan has offered a line of cards, books, and small items to retailers, evolving to a large selection in a variety of dyed and natural papers, with an emphasis on theme cards.
