sterling silver and raw uncut natural black tourmaline gemstones

Rosie Harris is a skilled goldsmith based on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, blending traditional jewellery-making techniques like lost wax casting with her technical background as an engineering technologist. With over 25 years of experience, she combines formal training with self-taught expertise to craft sterling silver jewellery inspired by the natural landscapes of the Pacific Northwest. She hand-carves each design in jeweller's wax before transforming it into sterling silver using the lost wax casting method. Her pieces feature natural, raw, uncut gemstones - perfectly imperfect, just as nature intended. Deeply inspired by the beautiful West Coast she is grateful to call home, her Forest Noir and Forest Light pieces reflect the shifting light of dawn, the quiet depth of night in the forest, and the calm found in these fleeting moments. Her designs embrace the contrast between light and dark (the battle inside us all). Herkimer diamonds capture the crisp clarity of daylight filtering through the trees, while black tourmaline embodies the grounding strength of shadowed forests. Both symbolize clarity, resilience, and energetic alignment - black tourmaline offers grounding and protection, while Herkimer quartz crystals enhance light and insight. The Iraia Silver Midnight Ferns capture nature's quiet strength and the grounding energy of black tourmaline. Inspired by the delicate unfurling of ferns beneath moonlit skies, these hoop earrings symbolize growth, transformation, and protection. The detailed silver foliage embraces a deep black tourmaline, a stone known for its shielding and balancing properties. Her jewellery serves as a keepsake - rooted in nature, a reminder to stay grounded and embrace natural beauty. Created for those who move through life with lightness, strength, and a wild heart.

Rosie Harris is a Vancouver Island-based artist who fell in love with metalwork upon her first introduction to the craft. Living on Vancouver Island, she is continuously inspired by the wild beauty around her - the mountains, rugged coastline, towering forests, and the steady rhythm of the ocean. Nature fuels her adventures and breathes life into her designs, making it the heart of her work. With jewellery, there is often a relationship between the wearer and the piece. Sometimes it is sentimental, signifying a moment, a memory, or a feeling of nostalgia. Rosie seeks to create mindful jewellery that reflects the simple joys in life, connecting the wearer to their favourite places and experiences. Whether for a busy parent or a driven professional, her easy-to-style designs help people feel both grounded and polished, wherever they roam. She completed three years at Vancouver Community College, where she earned a diploma in Jewellery Art and Design and received an award for best design for her water-inspired jewellery display. And she has never stopped designing water-inspired jewellery...
