"Fara" is a contemporary exploration of the Faravahar, one of the most enduring symbols of Persian heritage. Traditionally representing the journey of the soul, the Faravahar embodies wisdom, integrity, and freedom. Inspired by its historical and conceptual significance, jewellery designer Bahar Bak sought to reinvent and deconstruct the symbol, making it more relevant to the present day. Crafted from sterling silver, "Fara" was created using a combination of hydraulic pressing, piercing, sandblasting, and distressed texturing to achieve its intricate yet modern aesthetic. By breaking down the traditional structure, Bahar transforms the Faravahar from a static emblem into a dynamic force - one that adapts, evolves, and resonates across generations. The design preserves its essence through simplified details, negative space, and asymmetry, reflecting the interplay between tradition and reinvention. A real feather is incorporated to symbolize motion and aspiration, while the textured finish references the symbol's ancient origins. The removable feather allows "Fara" to be worn in two distinct ways - either with the feather for a bold, expressive look or without it for a more minimalist interpretation.

Bahar Bagheri (b. 2001) is a jewellery designer and multidisciplinary artist based in Toronto, currently pursuing a bachelor degree in Jewellery Design at OCAD University. With a background in fashion, theatre, and cinema, Bahar brings a narrative-driven approach to her work, crafting pieces that transcend adornment and become vessels for storytelling. Before transitioning into jewellery design, Bahar studied fashion design, screenplay writing, and theatre direction, earning a diploma in cinema studies. This diverse artistic foundation informs her design philosophy, blending elements of visual storytelling, costume, and performance into striking, wearable art. Each piece is meticulously crafted to evoke emotion, encourage dialogue, and challenge conventional aesthetics through both form and texture. Bahar's work explores themes of identity, history, and transformation, often incorporating modern deconstructions of traditional motifs. Her recent jewellery designs reflect a balance between elegance and edge, with bold, sculptural forms that defy cultural and gender boundaries. With an evolving body of work that merges fine craftsmanship with conceptual depth, Bahar aims to create jewellery that is not only visually compelling but also meaningful. Her unique perspective and dedication to artistic storytelling have positioned her as an emerging voice in contemporary jewellery design.
