sterling silver, reticulating silver, and argentium
These earrings are hand made using conventional silver smithing techniques. The centres are made by first depletion gilding and then reticulating.
Linda uses a number of different types of silver when making jewellery. Sterling silver (925) and argentium (940) are used for the majority of her items. Decorative elements can involve other types of silver when texture is wanted. The metal is cut, soldered, and polished to various degrees depending on the desired effect. Patinas are used to bring out the details. Nature inspires many of her pieces. She also likes the simplicity of geometry. She frequently adds colour and interest to her pieces with gemstones. The pieces submitted are a reflection of my surroundings in the lower mainland. Most of the time her work is one of a kind or production limited to 2 or 3 pieces.
