A retired Civil Engineer, Michael Hamilton-Clark has, since 2005, been designing and making turned wood items in Chilliwack. His creations are intended to be both useful and pleasing to the eye. Accordingly, he bears in mind that to be useful, form should follow function, and to be aesthetic, forms should flow. He strives to embody these aspects using various woods whose grain patterns, textures, and colours all have a part to play for any particular item. He is an active member of the Fraser Valley Woodturners Guild and has participated in various exhibitions, working on his lathe for all to see.
