This project acknowledges and appreciates phenomenology in relation to nature and uses forged wire as a technique to capture the organic and elegant shapes of leaves and branches.
The concept of these earrings is inspired by the experience of walking underneath the branches of a tree and looking up, watching how the compositions of branches change with every step. The composition of these earrings is based on multiple plant forms including leaves, blooming flowers, and the outstretched branches of trees. The structure and moveable parts are inspired by Alexander Calder's plant-like mobile sculptures and their slow-turning motion in suspension. The aim of these earrings is to capture the ever-changing phenomena of plants in motion, and the cold connections used to construct them allow their branches to be rotated into any desired arrangement, celebrating spontaneity and the beauty of chance.
