The salad will be the highlight of your dinner party when it is prepared and served in this one of a kind maple wood turned salad bowl. This bowl features a 2 cm textured band that encircles it and is dyed a dark brown for a stunning contrast to the bowls natural wood colour. The rest of the bowl is finished with a Danish Oil (Linseed Oil based), a natural curing oil that penetrates the surface and cures within the wood. It is completely food safe after it has cured.
When this bowl is not in use, it will command well-deserved attention displayed in the dining room or kitchen. A beautiful wedding, anniversary or new home gift – this salad bowl will be admired and passed down for generations.
Hand wash with warm water and mild soap, rinse, wipe off and let air dry. Keep out of direct sunlight. Occasionally recondition with walnut or mineral oil.
Allan Cusworth (Langley, BC) first experienced woodturning during high school in Cobourg, Ontario. After moving to British Columbia in the early 1990’s he took a serious interest in the craft. He belongs to two local Woodturning Guilds as well as the American Association of Woodturning. Recognized for his platters, bowls, unique hollow vessels and wedding goblets, he fine buffs his pieces for a shiny finish. Allan takes great consideration making each piece unique by embellishing wood grain patterns and natural wood coloration.
