Some narratives are drawn from my own experiences, while others have been entrusted to me through observation, conversation, and shared human experience.
My practice is rooted in exploring the tension between beauty and hardship, resilience and fragility. I am compelled by the ways people endure, adapt, and survive, even in the face of profound loss and uncertainty. Through my work, I seek to illuminate these emotional landscapes and give form to what often feels difficult to articulate."

Sonya Iwasiuk is a contemporary mixed-media artist and educator based in Vancouver, British Columbia, whose work bridges memory, materiality, and place.
