Once the ingot is formed, it is milled down into either wire or sheet to suit the design. Each individual piece is then carefully shaped and soldered into its component parts, and those components are assembled to form the finished piece of jewellery. The final cleanup and polishing can take as long as the initial fabrication, depending on the level of intricacy involved.

Luke Weiser Jewellery originally began its journey as a custom fly rod shop, but over time, it has gracefully evolved into a complete and dedicated goldsmith shop. While Luke was passionately working on the fly fishing rods, he decided to learn the intricate art of crafting the hardware for the rod handles, and that initial experience sent him on a fascinating path toward becoming a skilled goldsmith.

In order to further develop his capabilities, he sought the guidance of a friend and in 2016 was directed to the esteemed Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts, where he aimed to advance and refine his skills in jewellery making. After successfully completing the classes, he noticed that friends and customers began to inquire about more elaborate rings and other exquisite pieces of jewellery, including wedding and engagement rings. As time progressed, his jewellery creations gradually began to overtake the production of fly rods and Luke Weiser Jewellery was started.

Luke creates each piece of meticulously handmade jewellery with classic goldsmithing techniques and on some occasions will cut the gem as well. While he has shown in galleries in Calgary and Edmonton, Alberta, with the Alberta Craft Council, as well as Saint John, New Brunswick, at Handworks Gallery, he prefers to interact with customers on a more personal level. With that goal in mind, he and his wife are looking to relocate to British Columbia's Sunshine Coast this year and open a small shop that will include an apartment for clients to use while they go through the design part of the build or take one of his classes. Luke was also awarded the opportunity to supply the spousal accreditation pieces for the spouses of the 2025 G7 world leaders and has shown in a few art installations with the Alberta Craft Council.
