Leah Allison started working with glass in 2002, and immediately knew it was what she was going to do for the rest of her life. In 2018, Leah founded her own studio, Big Eddy Glass Works in Revelstoke, B.C.. Now she is able to experiment in glass blowing and flameworking, making her signature colourful cups and adding sparkle to everything she can. Leah likes to throw parties every Friday the 13th and blows glass under a disco ball every day. "The Latitude Line" has been a work in progress since 2014. Inspired by the latitude lines on the maps of the mountain region Leah calls home, and brought to life with jewel tones that speak to her. The overlapping duro trails reflect the path that led Leah to glass as an art form, as well as to her life in Revelstoke, B.C. Not everyone’s paths are linear, and like The Latitude Line, these overlapping paths add beauty and interest to the finished piece.
