Flora Ear HangerSold out!
A modern take on a poppy, this asymmetrical set features a soft honed finish and a patina that highlights the subtle hand chased and engraved details. To create them, I sketch the initial outline of the flower directly onto 22 gauge silver sheet. The flowers are cut out by hand, using a jeweler's saw. Once cut, I sketch further detail to the edge and recut. The metal is annealed, and the layers of chased detailing begin. A hammer and various handcrafted punches are used to add texture and depth to the flat metal. The flowers are then slightly domed before I use different burs to engrave further details. Handcrafted ear wires are soldered to the back of each earring, and then a patina is applied. Excess patina is removed by hand before a final polish of the piece.
