May Fan Leung grew up in Taiwan and emigrated to Canada in the seventies. It was in a community centre, where she first encountered and fell in love with clay. Later she studied fine arts at Cariboo College, Kamloops, and joined the local pottery guild. After many years of making functional ceramic wares and sculpture pieces in interior BC, now she lives in Vancouver. She enjoys trying different techniques, forms and glazes, as clay is a fascinating medium, which offers endless possibilities. Some of her works were accepted in several ceramic competitions, such as the Gallery of BC SilkRoad competition and the international Small Teapot competition in the US.
