Scandinazn crafts imaginative Jewelry, inspired by the geometric shapes and pops of colour in Scandinavian design and the subtle handmade intricacies of Japanese art - inspired by designer Jamie Carlson's mixed heritage.
While completing her undergrad in Fashion Design at Kwantlen, Carlson developed a love for Upcycling out of a desire to create beautiful things from fashion industry waste. Through the process of experimentation, leather became a favourite to use as an embellishment - creating tassels or patches to add on to clothing. Eventually those tassels evolved into earrings, and Carlson's focus shifted to making jewelry.
Scandinazn was founded in 2012, with the desire to explore elements of design from her heritage, while shining light on the often wasteful nature of the fashion industry. Scandinazn is all about promoting creative self-expression and sustainability through ethically-made jewelry.
