Berkeley Brown’s whimsical jewellery embodies her love of precision and interaction, combined with her passion for the aesthetics and traditions of baking, cooking, and kitchen implements. She makes everything by hand, focusing on the small-scale intricacy that metal enables.
Berkeley graduated from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in 2009 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Major in Jewellery Design and Metalsmithing. After graduating, Berkeley moved to Glasgow, Scotland where she completed an artist in residency at the Glasgow School of Art and gained professional experience working for a local jewellery designer and gallery. Berkeley is currently working as an independent jeweller in Halifax, Nova Scotia, as well as an instructor and technician in the NSCAD University jewellery department.
