Sterling silver, concrete, natural pigments
These look really heavy, but they are not so bad.
I have mixed my concrete with resin, so it is not porous.
That said, you should take care of it like any other sterling silver jewellery. The best way to avoid oxidation is to wear your jewellery often. Yay! When in storage, it is best to keep your jewel away from light and air (Ziploc bag). Apply perfumes or cosmetics prior to wearing your jewellery. You can also restore its shine by using a polishing cloth. It is advised not to keep underwater for long periods of time and to avoid chlorine.
A Sherbrooke Quebec native, Éliane-Catrie Blouin Achim turns her interests on jewellery in 2005, after ensuing studies in visual arts. She completed her training at École de Joaillerie de Montréal in 2009. As distinguished for their rough than for their refined side, her creations were exhibited in Canada, the United States and Europe notably in Milan and Bucharest. Some of her jewelry pieces are part of international jewelry books. She currently lives and works in Montreal.
