sterling silver, hand fabrication
The artist meticulously crafted a pair of earrings, employing traditional techniques such as sawing, doming and soldering in sterling silver to shape a three-dimensional symmetrical structure composed of 4 angles, each measuring 110 degrees at the front and back, and 70 degrees at the sides, meticulously formed from a sheet of 20-gauge sterling silver. The structure is designed to harmonize with the volume of the spheres, which fits seamlessly into the lower cavity of the structures.
The artist was inspired to design these earrings by an exploration of the relationship between space and matter, watching videos showing the formations created by bodies entering the atmosphere as a result of high-speed friction with air. This inspired the artist to conceive these earrings that would encapsulate a narrative of dynamic movement and elegant integration. By infusing traditional jewelry with a contemporary perspective.
