The two biggest influences in Margot's work are her glamorous mother and the area where she grew up.
Margot was raised outside of New York City in a home where fashion was important and paid attention to. She always loved sitting in her mom's bedroom watching her pick out her sophisticated outfits and put her make up on before she went out. Spending lots of time wandering the streets of New York, she soaked in the raw energy of the city. She was fascinated by the grit of the landscape and enamored by the bold styles of everyone ignoring fashion norms.
Each piece she creates embodies a balance of sophistication and decay. Bold, distressed designs are adorned with gems and pops of color, creating a connection where elegance meets imperfection. Through her jewelry, Margot wants to convey that imperfection is beauty and being different should be celebrated instead of looked down upon or seen as something that needs to be fixed. The first pair of earrings are hand fabricated. The second pair of earrings are also hand fabricated.
